ASSERTIVENESS
Learn to stand up for yourself , not to be pushed into a corner, and to manage even difficult communication situations constructively. You will find out how to respond to criticism and manipulation , how to remain strong in all circumstances without falling into aggression, how to build quality relationships with the people around you.
Assertiveness is sometimes misinterpreted as the ability to win and assert oneself at the expense of others. This is not the assertiveness you will learn in our course.
In its true sense, assertiveness means building a balanced respect for yourself and other people , open and direct communication, freedom from pressure and manipulation , brings better results, better relationships and a better feeling that a person has about himself and from interaction with others.

Course content
Introduction, course setting and expectations, entry mapping
We get to know each other, agree on setting the rules, and each of the participants defines what challenging situations they encounter and what they would like to take away from the course.
What is assertiveness - basic orientation
We will get to know the 3 basic communication styles (aggressive, passive, assertive), characterize the key features and clearly name the effects of each style. For example, what does it do to the other person when I (even subtly) instruct, reprimand or retreat. We learn to recognize not only clear features, but also subtle manifestations and increase our sensitivity to what mindset we are in.
What is assertiveness - a deeper understanding
So what prevents us from being assertive? We name together the so-called basic conflict and our often unaware barriers. We will find out where the feeling of guilt arises, how we can firmly lean on assertive rights, accept responsibility for what belongs to us and not be drawn into what is not ours. We will look at how we can train our brains and transform useless habits into useful ones.
We will begin to train together to perceive and communicate our boundaries and their value in building thriving communication and relationships.
We will talk about how not to be pushed into a corner, because what we say and do "from a corner" often does not bring anything good.
Our body as a helper
We will explore how our body can help us maintain self-confidence, strength in communication, especially in stressful situations - very practical tips for coping with challenging situations and for everyday life.
Assertive listening
We will go through the 4 steps of assertive listening in a very practical way. Listening is a very underrated but very important discipline and with quality listening we can significantly increase our chances of success in communication.
Assertive expression
We will learn and try with a number of practical examples:
A basic technique for everyday assertive communication (4 simple steps)
Advanced techniques:
How to say "NO" without feeling guilty
How to handle criticism
How to defend against manipulation
How to keep enough energy for it all
When we are tired, we tend to go into survival mode very quickly and fall into our old patterns. The chance that we will consciously use assertive techniques decreases.
Therefore, taking care of our own energy is critically important. We will learn practical tips for working with energy and long-term self-care.
Looking back and feedback
We will summarize the key information, see if we have succeeded in fulfilling the purpose of the course and share feedback.
